Celebrating Excellence: Congratulations to Peter Graven, 2026 Stemmy Individual Award Winner!

At FIRST Wisconsin, we are thrilled to celebrate one of our incredible community leaders. Peter Graven from the St. Francis School District has been honored with the 2026 Individual Stemmy Award! The Excellence in STEM Awards (The Stemmys) recognize those who passionately promote STEM awareness and elevate students' capabilities.

Peter embodies the spirit of a FIRST mentor. He breaks down classroom walls to connect students with real-world challenges, guiding them through hands-on projects ranging from fabricating prosthetic hands to managing hydroponics systems. His commitment to experiential learning has even extended globally, leading conservation and biodiversity trips to Costa Rica.

Beyond inspiring his own students, Peter is a pillar for our wider educational community. He supports fellow educators and mentors by hosting lab tours, providing equipment guidance, and sharing effective strategies to expand STEM opportunities

.

Thank you, Peter, for your passion and your commitment to shaping the next generation of innovators. This recognition is incredibly well-deserved!
