Who is Eligible?
To qualify for this grant, your team must meet the following criteria:
Must be a registered rookie FTC team.
Must have already paid your registration fee.
Must reside within North America.
The Objective: Code to Win
The application process doubles as a programming bootcamp. Your students will use FTC SIM—a virtual robotics simulator—to complete puzzles and learn the fundamentals of autonomous movement.
The Goal: Find and collect 13 out of 15 hidden lightning bolts within the simulator.
The Skills: Through these puzzles, students will learn how to program an FTC robot to drive forward and backward, navigate turns, and utilize advanced color and distance sensors.
The Reward: Completing the challenges unlocks a secret grant code.
How to Claim Your $1000 USD
Once your team successfully unlocks the grant code, follow these steps to secure your funds:
Submit the Application: Head over to the official FIRST Robotics Canada Grant Page and fill out the form using your unlocked code.
Account Setup: Once your application is approved, HCB will contact you to set up your team account.
Start Shopping: Use your $1000 USD balance to purchase parts, tools, or any electronics your team needs to build a successful robot this season.
