Last Night's FTC Program Call

Oct 23
1 min read

Last night, FIRST Wisconsin Staff and Key Volunteers hosted an FTC Program Update Call to share important FTC information with coaches across the state. Attendance was very low, which is why we are writing this BLOG.

We put significant time and effort into preparing these updates to keep all teams and coaches informed. Our staff and key volunteers also make themselves available to answer questions and support teams throughout the season. Out of more than 100 teams in Wisconsin, only 12 people attended the call. That level of participation is disappointing. Consider how you would feel if you hosted a team meeting and fewer than 10% of your team attended.

The meeting included a detailed discussion of the judging process. Both of our Judge Advisors participated and explained how judging will work at events, how teams can prepare effectively, and what has changed since last season. They did an excellent job covering the topic, and no questions remained after their presentation.

The call also covered where to find information about upcoming events on the website, as well as a major change to the team check-in process at all qualifier events.

For the many coaches who were unable to attend, here is the link to the recording of last night's call.

We will host another Program Update Webinar on November 12, 2026.  You need to register for the call at this link:

Sorry this was missed. Completely agree with the frustration of holding the calls And having low attendance. If it helps, 12 sounds 3x better than previous year.

Still looking for where this was announced - did not see it on slack on email before the event.

One practice in the past when mentor network was active was to collect questions online ahead. So even if lower attendance, the Q&A coverage was valuable and it served Iike a podcast.

Thank you for doing this and publishing
